戦時中、この島に父は東京芸大(旧東京美術大学)在学中で、学友だった加山又三画伯、勅使河原宏 草月流家元などと一緒に海軍下士官としてここに派遣されたそうだ。このことを父はいつも話してくれていて私の脳裏にも記憶されている。しかし、残念ながら台風で旧海軍兵学校に入ることはできなかった。
今、ここに3年前に亡くなった父と学友を想う。合掌
旧海軍江田島兵学校
During the second war, my father who was a student at the Tokyo University of the Arts was stationed here as a naval petty officer alongside his classmates, including the renowned painter Matazo Kayama and Hiroshi Teshigahara, the head of the Sōgetsu School of Ikebana. My father often told me this story, and it remains etched in my memory.
Standing here now, I think of my father, who passed away three years ago, and his classmates. I bow my head in prayer.
