天皇陛下主催の園遊会に招かれ、幸運にも天皇皇后両陛下からお言葉をいただいた。
日本芸術院会員に就任できたことをお伝えすると、天皇陛下からは「石川県の作家さんはご無事ですか？」皇后陛下からは「恩賜賞受賞後の制作はどのようなものを作られていますか？」などと御下問を受けた。
その後、秋篠宮様をはじめ多くの皇室の方々ともお言葉を交わすことができて、人生の忘れられない一時ともなった。
I was invited to the garden party hosted by Their Majesties the Emperor and was fortunate enough to receive a few words from them.
When I told them that I was able to become a member of the Japan Art Academy, the Emperor asked, “Is the artist from Ishikawa Prefecture all right?” The Empress asked me, “What kind of works have you been producing since then?” and so on.
Afterwards, I was able to exchange words with many members of the Imperial Family, including Her Imperial Highness Princess Akishino, and it was an unforgettable moment in my life.
