大樋美術館での説明に聞き入るサウジアラビアの人々
母の点前で茶道を体験
会席と芸鼓さん達のパーフォマンスを楽しむ
柳瀬和彦氏は私の友人で、サウジアラビア石油会社 東京支社に勤務されている。
そんな彼から、「会社の重役達が本国から来日して柏崎原子力発電所を見学することになり、
一日前に観光する余裕ができた。どこがいいだろう？」私は金沢への観光を進めた。
彼は本社に出向き日本滞在のスケジュールを打診して、正式決定となった。
特別な旅と成るように、私はホテル、料亭、レストラン、各施設などを紹介しながら、東京支社の方々が何度も出向き、打ち合せをした。
その気の使いようは、まるで皇族を迎えるかのようなものでもあった。なぜなら本社が本国や王室に直結しているからだ。
そして当日、様々に観光をこなして我家に到着。あいにくの雨模様なのだが、雨が降らない彼らに取ってはそれも美しい景色なのだそうだ。
大樋美術館を見学、そして茶室で茶道を母の点前で体験した。とても文化に関心の深い人達で、説明した父も含めて嬉しそうだった。
夜は金城楼で会食、芸鼓さんのパフォーマンスに全員が静寂、そしてその後は喝采となった。
お酒を飲まない彼らに、なぜあのような楽しさがあるのか不思議だった。
とにかく彼らは、金沢を訪れたことで日本を知ってくれた。満足そうな彼らの顔をみて、柳瀬さんも、私も心から喜んでいる。
最後に苦言をひとつ。話題のレストランではあるのだが総支配人のあのふてぶてしい態度は納得がいかない。
初夏の時であったが、東京からわざわざ事前調査のために訪れた支社の人達に「当方は予約は皆に平等にするために、
2ヶ月前になって予約を取らせていただきます。
だれにでも平等に、、、、、、」多くを語らない彼らを蔑視したかのような物言いに、あきれ果ててしまった。」
ちなみに彼らは本当に2ヶ月前に電話をしたらしい。結婚式と別の予約が入っていたそうだ。
金沢にはこのような所もある。我々は良い街にするためにも、もてなしをレベルアップしていかなければばらない。
