東京・歌舞伎座「七月大歌舞伎」の初日に招かれた。知人でもある坂東玉三郎さん、市川海老蔵さんなどの迫力ある演技に感動。
終了後、海老蔵さんのお母上(市川団十郎夫人)を囲む会食があり、歌舞伎の話題で盛り上がる。
歌舞伎座は、隈研吾氏が設計。内装、外装、役者の衣装、全てが工芸だ。
そして、多くの人々が着物で鑑賞する。
歌舞伎は茶道。歌舞伎座は茶室。芝居と茶会。そこに古今の工芸が存在している。
I was invited the first day in Tokyo Kabukiza Theater “July big kabuki”.
I’m impressed with the acting the force of Mr. Tamasaburou Bando and Mr. Ebizou Ichikawa.
who are also my cquaintance.
There was after dinner together with Ebizou’s mother (Mrs. Ichikawa Danjuro) and it was topic of kabuki.
Well known Architecture Kuma Kengo designs this Kabuki theater. Interior, the exterior, actor’s costume
and everything are arts and crafts. And many people appreciate it by a kimono.
Kabuki is the way of tea. Kabukiza is a tea room.
Pretense and tea ceremony. Arts and crafts in all ages exist there.
