ブルース ミラー オーストラリア大使が発起人となって、ポーリン・ガンデル氏の旭日小綬章受賞祝賀会が大使公邸で催された。
彼女は、漆工芸品など多くの日本美術品を所蔵し、国内外の美術館等に貸し出しを行い、
また2012年にナショナル・ギャラリー・オブ・ビクトリア内に日本美術専門ギャラリー開設に貢献した。
また、茶道を通じた日本文化の普及にも尽力され、裏千家の重鎮でもある。
スピーチでは、今後とも日豪関係の促進のために貢献していきたいと意欲を示された。
その後、小笠原伯爵邸において、ガンデル夫妻が答礼夕食会を催された。
親しい人々が国内外から集まり、ポーリン・ガンデル氏のメインゲストとして、
秋元雄史・金沢21世紀美術館館長、漆芸家・北村辰夫氏と共に私も招かれた。
ガンベル夫妻は、プライベートジェットで何度も金沢や能登にもお越しになっており、我家で作陶されたこともある。
実業家として大成功を収められながら、12人の孫に囲まれた幸福な家庭を築かれている。
益々、御元気に活躍をされてていくことを祈りたい。
She received The Order of the Rising Sun and her celebration party was held at Australia ambassador official
residence by a call of Ambassador Blues Miller .
Mr. John Gandel and Mrs. Pauline Gandel are collecting Japanese Lacquerware items
and many Japanese craft works.
And they are contributing from their collections for abroad art museum also to Japanese professional gallery.
Recently they had big establishment of fine arts in National Gallery of Victoria in 2012.
They are also important parson for Urasenke Tea Foundation from their understandings about
the way of Japanese tea.
She’d like to contribute for promotion on a Japan-Australia relation with this continues, she made a speech.
After that Mr and Mrs Gandel held acknowledgment dinner party in Ogasawara count house.
Close friends from domestic and abroad,
I was invited as main guests with President of Kanazawa 21st Century Museum Akimoto Yuji
and Lacquer artist Mr. Kitamura Tatsuo.
They are coming to Kanazawa and Noto many times by a private jet,
and they have been made tea bowls at my studio.
Though they are already great success businessman, building the happy family with circled by 12 grandchilds.
I’d like to wish that they will continue their own activities forever.
