天皇皇后両陛下の拝謁を仰ぎ、本日、恩賜賞並びに日本芸術院賞を受賞させていただいた。
両陛下からは、恩賜賞受賞者としてご下問を賜わり、その緊張の連続と人生最高の瞬間を全てのマスコミが伝えてくれている。
消えることのない悲しみを持ち続けることは、新たな気付きが生まれることを知った。
間違いなく、守られながら生かされている。
全てに感謝を捧げなければならない。

The Japan Art Academy Hall
Today, I received the Imperial Prize and the Japan Art Academy Prize in the presence of
Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.
Their Majesties have asked me to come down as a recipient of the Imperial Prize,
and all the media has been reporting on the tension and the best moment of my life.
I have learned that holding on to a grief that will never disappear can bring about new realizations.
Without a doubt, I am kept alive while being protected.
I must give thanks for everything and thank you all.
