彼の国は、かってはスペインや米国の植民地となり、また日本に占領された時代もある。
そんな歴史的背景を捉えながら独自の芸術性にチャレンジし続けている。
ほぼ1日、様々な会話をさせていただいたが、
作品も人柄も超一流だった。
彼は、普段はあまり人とは積極的に話さないらしいのだが、「今度は、私の工房で制作する」そう言い残して去っていった。
A superstar artist born in Manila in 1973. He came to see me from the land of perpetual summer to Kanazawa in winter.
His country was once colonized by Spain and the United States, and was once occupied by Japan.
He continues to challenge his unique artistry while capturing such a historical background.
For almost a day, we had various conversations, I could respect his work and personality that was beautiful.
It seems that he usually doesn’t actively talk to people, but he said, “in near future, let me make
work in your studio,” and left.
