石川県が主催する「いしかわ伝統工芸フェア2024」が開催されている。
大きな被害を受けた輪島塗や珠州焼などの出品もあり、また、連日のテレビ報道などで大変な賑わいとなっている。
私も、石川の伝統工芸の復活の一助となるよう講演をさせていただいのだが、外務省幹部、
読売新聞などのマスコミ関係者など、当初の定員50名から100名を超える方々に話を聞いていただく機会となった。
能登の伝統工芸は悲惨な状況にあるはずだ。
しかし、従事する皆様の来場者に対する明るい前向きな姿勢に、多くの方々が感動されている。
皆様、能登の伝統工芸を応援してください。
そして、能登の伝統工芸に生きる皆様、未来に残る工芸となるよう一緒に頑張っていきましょう。
The Ishikawa Traditional Crafts Fair 2024 is being held by Ishikawa Prefecture.
The fair has been very busy with exhibits of Wajima lacquerware and Suzu pottery,
both of which were severely damaged,
as well as daily television coverage of the event.
I also gave a lecture to help revive Ishikawa’s traditional crafts,
and the event was attended by more than 100 people,
up from the original capacity of 50, including senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
members of the media such as the Yomiuri Shimbun.
The traditional crafts in Noto must be in a dire situation.
However, many people were impressed by the cheerful and positive attitude of everyone engaged
in the project toward the visitors.
Everyone, please support the traditional crafts of Noto.
And to those of them who live and work in the traditional crafts of Noto,
let’s work together to make these crafts a lasting legacy for the future.
