今朝、全国各社の新聞がこのことを伝えてくれている。横綱の土俵入りには3本の化粧回が必要とされる。
「横綱 大の里を太陽神として例え、露払い(地球)と太刀持ち(月)を従える。三位一体となって我々に光明をもたらせてくれる」。そんな願いを込めてデザインさせていただいた。
8月24日に横綱への贈呈式が行われ、25日に金沢市での夏巡業で初披露される予定となっている。
9月秋場所での横綱土俵入りを今から楽しみにしている

This morning, newspapers across the all Japan are reporting. Yokozuna’s ring-entering ceremony requires three decorative aprons.
Yokozuna Ohnosato is likened to the sun god, accompanied by the earth (the dewman) and the moon (the sword-bearer). Together, the trinity will bring us the light of day. This is the wish that I had in mind when designing this statue.
The presentation ceremony for the yokozuna will be held on August 24, and it is scheduled to make his first public appearance during this summer sumo tour in Kanazawa on August 25.
I am looking forward to the yokozuna’s ring-entering ceremony at the autumn tournament.
