天皇皇后両陛下が御催しの茶会に日本芸術院新会員として皇居に招かれた。
天皇皇后両殿下、秋篠宮皇嗣及び皇嗣妃、愛子内親王殿下と佳子内親王殿下より、それぞれに親しくお言葉を賜り、私の仕事に対しても御下問いただき、身に余る光栄な出来事でもあった。
これを励みに、日本の文化や工芸を世界に益々伝えていかなければと意を強くした瞬間でもあった。
I was invited to the Imperial Palace as a new member of the Japan Art Academy for a tea ceremony hosted by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.
It was a great honor to be invited by Their Imperial Highnesses the Emperor and Empress, Prince and Princess Akishino, Her Imperial Highness Princess Aiko and Her Imperial Highness Princess Kako, who each gave me a warm welcome and asked me about my work.
It was a moment that strengthened my resolve to use this as encouragement to further promote Japanese culture and crafts throughout the world.
