旧知の間柄でもある本間秀子さんが22人のブラジル人芸術家を伴って浜松を訪れた。彼女は日系ブラジル人であり著名な陶芸家でもある。
昨日、夕食を共にしたガルシア在浜松ブラジル総領事によると、浜松市内には、1万人を超えるブラジルからの人々が住んでいるそうだ。
朝、市内にある松韻亭での茶会では、ブラジル人芸術家の方々に茶道に関わる解説をさせていただいた。
午後、現地校に通うブラジルからの高校生も加わり、日本文化についての講演、そして陶芸体験をしてもらったのだが、
彼らのチャレンジングな姿勢には驚かされた。
5年前、コロナパンデミックの直前だったが、外務省からの派遣でサンパウロで個展、講演、ワークショップなどを行った。
その時には、本間秀子さんから多大なご協力をいただいた。今回はその恩への感謝も込めて浜松に出向かせてもらった。
遠いブラジルにも最高の仲間がいることを誇りにしたいと思う。
Ms. Hideko Honma, an old acquaintance of mine, visited Hamamatsu accompanied by 22 Brazilian artists.
She is a prominent Japanese-Brazilian and ceramic artist.
According to Consul General of Brazil in Hamamatsu, Mr. Garcia, with whom we had dinner yesterday,
there are more than 10,000 people from Brazil living in Hamamatsu City.
In the morning, at a tea ceremony at Shoin-tei in the city, I was able to give a commentary on the
tea ceremony to Brazilian artists.
In the afternoon, high school students from Brazil attending a local school joined us for a lecture on
Japanese culture and a pottery-making、 experience, and I was surprised by their challenging attitude.
Five years ago, just before the Corona pandemic, I was dispatched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
to Sao Paulo to hold a solo exhibition, lecture, and workshop. At that time, Ms. Hideko Honma gave me
a great deal of cooperation. This time, I was sent to Hamamatsu as a token of my gratitude for her kindness.
I am proud to say that I have the best friends in distant Brazil.
