今日から始まったこの展覧会は、工芸では日本国内最大規模であり、現代工芸美術家協会が主催している。
私はこの組織の常務理事として活動させていただいている。
今日は、東京都美術館で開会式と特別講演が企画され、私は司会を務めさせていただき、
また、懇親会では最後の挨拶もさせていただいた。
東北、熊本、そして能登半島地震と必ず被災した会員がいる。
そんな時にそっと寄り添ってくれる仲間がいるのがこの会の特徴だ。
そして、多様性と共に現代工芸の本質を求めていく集団でこれからもあってほしい。

The exhibition, which opened today, is organized by the Japan Contemporary Arts and Crafts Association.
Probably it is the largest of its kind in Japan. I am the executive director of this organization.
Today, the opening ceremony and special lectures were held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum,
where I was the MC, and I also gave the closing remarks at the reception.
There are always members who have been affected by the Tohoku, Kumamoto,
and Noto Peninsula earthquakes. One of the characteristics of this association is that we have friends
who are there for us at such times.
I hope this group will continue to pursue the essence of contemporary crafts with diversity.
