河南省の省都でもあり、殷の時代より3,500年の歴史をもち、中国八大古都に指定されている。
郊外には、黒川紀章氏発案による新都心が栄え、新しい建築とともに書画骨董などが至る所に融合している。
まるで現代アートのように見えてくるから不思議な気持ちにさせられる。
皇帝のためのものだった陶磁、織物などを休館日にも関わらず、我々だけが説明を受けた。
その求められた技術の高さは、計り知れない。
そして訪れた陶芸村などの職人達は、数千年の変わらない手技を黙々と繰り返している。
