建築家 黒川雅之先生に招かれ、香道志野流21代目である蜂谷宗苾若宗匠と対談した。
黒川先生とは、20年ほど前に始まった茶美会という新しい茶会を皆で模索した頃からのお付き合いで、
大変尊敬するクリエイターだ。
蜂谷若宗匠は、香道を海外にまで普及させ日本文化を担われている。
そして、気心が合う兄弟のような関係でもある。
二人で「日本の伝統と現代」をテーマに話させて頂いたが、彼には長い伝統の血が流れている。
そんな立場でありながら、常に挑戦し続けるプロフェッショナルだ。
話しながら学んだこと！
・我家の伝統？
彼とは比較にならない。無いに等しい。
・挑戦者でいること
彼は継承者でありながら挑戦者。
私は彼より18年も違う。しかし変わらぬモチベーションでいたい。

I was invited by Architect Masayuki Kurokawa and had a talk with Kodo Shino the 21st generation Hachiya Sohitsu
Mr. Kurokawa is the creator who is associating and looks up very much from the time when we groped
after a research ing for the new way of tea Sabie which has started before about 20 years.
Young Master Hachiya even makes kodo spread in foreign countries and carries Japanese culture.
And it’s also a relation like the brother.
We spoke to a theme about “Japanese tradition and modernity”
but long traditional blood is flowing to him. Though it’s such viewpoint, He is the professional who always
keeps challenging.
The thing which was learned while speaking!
* Tradition in my home?
It is no comparison. I don’t have that history back.
* Stay to be challenger.
Though he’s a successor, challenger.
I’m also more different for 18 years than him. But it’s painful by the motivation which doesn’t change.
